Well, Café Cartel is actually made from a blend of both Arabica, and Robusta, beans. The Arabica lends itself to a sweeter smoother coffee, while the Robusta adds some of that coffee "bitterness" we all crave, as well as a caffeine punch. Together, they make a full bodied Espresso Coffee.

While a cold brewed iced coffee with milk can be a nice treat on a hot summers day, cold brew generally lacks the full spectrum taste and intensity of a hot brewed, pressure extracted, Espresso coffee. When experimenting with various recipes over two years and hundreds of trials, the best, most authentic, full bodied coffee experience came from a real hot extracted Espresso coffee.

Good Question. In numerous studies, Carrageenan has been linked to gastrointestinal inflammation, irritable bowel syndrome, and a number of other medical issue. We have other, much safer and healthier ingredients we can use to produce our premium quality drinks, so we will never use Carrageenan in our products.

No. Café Cartel iced coffees are made with cows milk. We are working on a plant-milk version for our vegan and lactose intolerant friends!

Apart from the cows milk declared allergen on the relevant products, there are no other marked allergens. The iced coffees are certified gluten free, nut free, soy free, and carrageenan free. The product is produced in a facility that handles gluten, soy and tree nuts, but strict allergen control measures are in place to avoid cross contamination. 

All Café Cartel coffees are shelf stable, and can be stored in the pantry, at your office desk, in your gym bag, with your cycling or surfing gear, or anywhere else you might need a tasty energy boost. Ideally, the coffees should not be stored for extended periods at over 25°C to ensure the best taste. Once opened we suggest you refrigerate the can, and drink within 48 hours.

No Preservatives! All Café Cartel coffees undergo a proprietary heat treatment process which gets rid of any microbes, rendering the products safe to store at room temperature. Café Cartel products are produced in an FSA and GFFSI certified food Safe facility. 

Yes, all Café Cartel iced coffees are certified Halaal by SANHA.

Unfortunately, not all of the ingredients used in Café Cartel can be Kosher certified.
